Attendance at events
From time to time, we present our range of services and the partners we work with at events, in the course of which we may also process personal data.
Participants usually register for events by e-mail. In connection with registration, we process only the data that we strictly need to hold the event. This is usually the participant's first name and surname, the name of the company they come from, and their e-mail address and telephone number.
We process recordings of individuals attending our events exclusively on the basis of their personal consent. Consent is required both for making a recording and for publishing it on websites, social networks, in print media and the like. Without consent, we publish only those photographs in which a person is not identifiable or cannot be recognised.
Smartis d.o.o. processes photographs and videos for the purpose of publishing an event photo gallery or video feature and for subsequent promotion of the event in filing systems that it establishes, keeps and maintains in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data, and stores them for five years from their creation.
Use of data for marketing purposes
If you have given appropriate consent when registering for an event or in any other way, Smartis d.o.o. may also process your personal data for the purpose of marketing the services and products of Smartis d.o.o. The data are processed until consent is withdrawn.
On the basis of legitimate interest, we contact you about services and products in connection with which we have already done business together.
Categories of recipients of personal data
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties, except exceptionally where we receive a justified request for disclosure, usually from state authorities, on the basis of the applicable legislation.
Categories of processors of personal data
For certain processing operations of personal data, Smartis d.o.o. may work with contract processors who perform certain services on behalf of our company. Smartis d.o.o. concludes appropriate personal data processing agreements with contract processors, by which it binds the contract processors to the same standard of personal data protection as if it carried out the processing itself.

We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Personal data that we process on the basis of consent and for the purposes specified in the consents are retained until you withdraw your consent or object to the processing of the data for direct marketing purposes.

Your withdrawal applies for the future and does not affect the processing of personal data carried out before your withdrawal.
If you object to the processing of personal data based on our legitimate interests, we will no longer process your personal data unless, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
